SUMMITS TEDESCO AWARDED FELLOW IN HOSPITAL MEDICINE
April 21, 2010 James V. Tedesco, M.D. has been conferred the designation of Fellow in Hospital Medicine by the Society of Hospital Medicine. This is a designation of achievement and dedication in the field of hospital medicine. Dr. Tedesco has earned this designation through his commitment to hospital medicine and patient care.
The criteria for earning the Fellow in Hospital Medicine designation includes at least 5 years as a practicing hospitalist, no disciplinary action, and endorsements by two active Society of Hospital Medicine members. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate teamwork, emphasis on quality improvement, and exhibit leadership skills. Dr. Tedesco exceeds this criteria and has gone on to demonstrate his leadership through his service as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Summit Medical Center from 2005 to 2009.
Dr. Tedesco is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He is currently a practicing hospitalist and the Director of the Hospitalist program at Summit Medical Center, where he has served for the past 8 years.
Hospital Medicine is a medical specialty dedicated to comprehensive medical care of hospitalized patients.
